Toasters - Priest

It's been a while since my last installment in the Toasters series, but this one today will be my last.

I've enjoyed sharing my run-ins with various guys who attempted to date me but for one reason or another, didn't make it too far. Today, we'll talk about Priest.

I met Priest at a Nigerian event for a building dedication that my parent's invited me to. I arrived about 1 hour after the event started, so I missed several items in the agenda. At my mother's table was a man (Priest) that was simply dressed in a button-down shirt and jeans. He chatted me up a bit (in front of my mother, no less) and asked for my phone number after he walked me to my car, which I had no problem giving.

After a couple of conversations, he asked me out to dinner in which I obliged. At dinner, I asked the common questions that anyone would ask during early conversations with a date including what he did for a living. His response was, "You don't know?" When I responded no, he informed that he was a

CATHOLIC PRIEST

I asked him why he even was initiating conversation with me that could potentially lead to something more, his response was, "Everyone needs friends." I asked him what he meant by that and he stated that he would like to have a "secret" relationship with me. Although I was a little shocked, I let him know that I wasn't interested in having a SECRET relationship with any man, let alone a priest. I calmly ate my dinner and immediately requested to go home afterwards.

I couldn't believe that he had the AUDACITY to try and court me and he was a PRIEST! For those that aren't aware, very much like nuns, priests who have dedicated their lives to God are not allowed to have relationships of a sexual nature (meaning no marriage). Needless to say, I didn't have any more conversations with Priest.

Wedding - Mide and Junior

The last of our series with Mide and Junior is their white wedding. I can really appreciate the decorations for the ceremony and the fact that the whole world wasn't included in her wedding party, as she only had 4 bridesmaids.

Photography Excerpt: ...Mide and Junior is a good friend of ours (my wife and I) for so many years and just capturing one of the happiest days of their life was truly touching. They were surrounded by families and friends and wonderful people that care much about them...Below are some of my favorite images from the wedding and big thanks to Abayomi and Folasade for shooting with me. They helped me capture some of the most remarkable images from the wedding.

One Man Making His Way.....

If you live in Houston and know ANYTHING about weddings, you've probably heard the name Segun Gele.

Segun Gele is a gele tying ARTIST based out of Houston and does professional makeup services, including gele head tying for weddings and parties.

Although I don't live in Houston, I'd heard of Segun a few times and thought that it was a wonderful thing that somebody was able to enterprise the art of head tying as many of us (including myself) have problems doing a good job with it.

Check out this video CNN did on his services. Enjoy!!!

Stepping Up My Game......

Well, hello, everyone.

Although I've continued bringing you beautiful photos of African love, I've felt so out of sorts lately.

But I'm feeling much better nowadays and starting to step up my game.

The first thing in stepping up my game is getting a new url for my blog. So without further adieu....

www.naijawednmore.com

is where you can reach the blog. Don't worry, if you still type in the "blogspot" part of the link, it'll find me.

I hope this makes things easier for everyone.

Wedding - Sike and AJ, Part II

Photography by Tunji Sarumi Photography

Now take a look at the photo below. I can't imagine how many people were at this wedding that they had to begin counting the money that has been sprayed as it is shown below. Most likely, it is bundles of ten. Therefore, there is at least $150 in that bundle alone. Congrats to the couple.
