Toasters - New Feature

Although this is a wedding blog, something I like to about from time to time is marriage and relationships.

After all, there would be no reason for a wedding without either of these two things and frankly, are more important than the event itself. As an American-born Nigerian girl, I've been to my fair share of weddings and often wondered to myself,

"How did the couple get to this point?"

I mean, how many frogs did the girl have to kiss before she actually found the one. For some girls, it's only one. For others...well, let's just say that everyone has had their experiences. I, for one, have had SOME experiences, and some that didn't get to be an experience. That's what I'd like to start sharing with ya'll.

I do have a boyfriend that I love dearly and I did have to kiss a couple of frogs before I got to him (which I will also talk about), but there were the ones in where I just met eyes with the frog and that was basically it. I'm going to call this feature, Toasters.

A toaster is Naija slang for a man who is chatting a girl up to garner interest in a possible relationship. I had a few of those and for one reason or the other, it never came to fruition. I'll be posting it on Fridays and the first taste will be tomorrow. I do want to preface it by saying that I started dating about 13 years ago, so the men talked about here will be within that time period and will not necessarily be in the order that I actually met them. I also want to reiterate that dating or being toasted by someone doesn't mean there was any physical intimacy involved ( ya know what I mean ).

Until then....
